BEFORE TATTOO

DO:

  • Ensure that the area is well moisturised and that you are well rested before the appointment

  • Wear comfortable and loose-fitting clothing that would allow easy access to the tattoo placement

  • Have a meal and hydrate before the appointment!

DO NOT:

  • Consume alcohol within 24 hours before the appointment

  • Consume blood thinning medication 24 hours before the appointment as well

  • Get the tattoo placement sun-damaged

TATTOO AFTERCARE

  • Keep your clear bandage on for 2-3 days. It’s waterproof and protects your tattoo from environmental contaminants.

    AVOID:

    • Overexposure to the sun. Wait 2 weeks before using sunscreen

    • Avoid soaking your tattoo in water for extended periods of time

Wash your hands with soap before peeling off the second skin under warm running water (it helps to pull the bandage away from your skin instead of pulling down).

Wash your tattoo with lukewarm water, use an anti-bacterial soap to remove all the tattoo gunk. PAT DRY your tattoo with a clean tissue.

If the bandage comes off early for any reason and any part of your tattoo gets exposed, don’t re-bandage it and take off the entire bandage in the shower. Continue on with the healing process after!

  • Allow the tattoo to completely dry before moisturising the tattoo.

Moisturise the tattoo up to 5 times a day (more often if peeling/itchy) with an unscented and lightweight moisturiser/ the included tattoo balm.

DO NOT scratch the tattoo! SLAP the tattoo if the tattoo gets itchy.

NORMAL: itchiness, ink flaking off, shiny skin. This is simply part of the skin healing!

  • KEEP MOISTURISING!

You are now allowed to and should use sunscreen for your tattoo! Tattoos usually take 12-21 days to fully heal and settle in the skin.

With how different everyone’s skin is, the ink might seem to have fallen out. This could be due to skin conditions, improper aftercare or a tattooing mistake. This can definitely be fixed with our complimentary touch-up session, no worries!
